2. Medical review before publication
Every article is medically reviewed by a board-certified physician before it is published. The reviewer verifies clinical accuracy, completeness, and that claims are supported by the medical literature. The reviewer's name is published on the article.
3. Evidence-based sourcing
Clinical claims are referenced to authoritative sources, including:
- Peer-reviewed literature indexed in PubMed.
- Clinical guidelines from professional medical societies (e.g., AANS, CNS).
- Government health agencies (e.g., NIH/NINDS, NCI).
- Reputable patient-education materials from established medical organizations.
Where evidence is limited or opinions differ, we say so explicitly rather than presenting uncertainty as fact.
4. Published review dates
Every article displays its author, reviewer and "Last medically reviewed" date. This allows readers and search engines to assess how current the information is.
5. Review and update schedule
Medical content is reviewed at least annually, or sooner when significant new evidence or guidelines emerge. When a page is updated, the review date is refreshed and substantive changes are noted.
6. Correction policy
